Sovereign Spanish Magistral Order of the Knights Templar

Organic Structure SOMECT

The Sovereign Spanish Magistral Order of the Knights Templar (SOMECT) is constituted by autonomous priories established in various countries of the world. It is therefore not possible to belong to the Order on an individual basis, but the income must necessarily be fostered in a legally established Entrustment or Priory.

The Sovereign Spanish Magistral Order of the Knights Templar is constituted in accordance with Spanish legislation, and registered in the Ministry of the Interior, an agency to which it must be accountable for its economic activities - because it is a non-profit organization - and those acts that may produce legal effects. Such is the case of the election of Officers of the Order or the reform of the statutes.

Since November 24, 2011 The Sovereign Spanish Magistral Order of the Knights Templar holds the qualification of Sovereign, a distinction granted by a Royal Household, for what has become called the Spanish Master Order of the Knights Templar (SOMECT).

In these statutes, the Order has fixed its own purposes where it can be read, among others, those of “Promoting Christian virtues, defending the social order, practicing works of mercy, charity and charity. Spread the noble traditions of the ancient cavalry. Sponsor historical, heraldic and genealogical studies, particularly in relation to the ancient Templar tradition, etc.”

And in the same way and from 24/11/2011, the Sovereign Spanish Master Order of the Knights Templar, in addition to its Statutes and Rule, has the mandate to establish the guidelines of a Constitution governing its structure and its steps to follow, approved by the National Council of the Order and then ratified by all the members of the same One of the ways of fulfilling the purposes that point to the Order both its "Original Rules and the Order"

This work is carried out with the collaboration of professed and professed, as well as by specialized people and interested in the topics of the Temple. The works are channeled through the Institute of Templar Development.
